Copy the link from the specific Reel you want to save. A profile link points to a creator, not one particular video, and a page containing multiple posts may not identify the intended media. Open the copied link to confirm it leads to the correct Reel.
A publicly visible profile does not guarantee that every post can be retrieved by a third-party service. A Reel may have been removed, access may have changed, or a compatible source may not be available for processing.

Why the downloaded Reel may look different
Instagram may resize or re-encode uploaded videos. The file available for download can therefore differ from the creator's original recording in resolution, bitrate, dimensions, file size, or compression.
Reels are often displayed vertically, but the dimensions of a returned file depend on the source. A higher resolution number alone does not guarantee a clearer picture, because compression and the detail in the original recording also affect quality.
If you need an original-quality master for editing or archiving, retain your own original recording. Downloading a platform-delivered copy cannot restore detail that has already been removed.
Audio in saved Reels
A downloaded Reel may contain sound if the accessible source includes a usable audio stream. A silent source or unavailable soundtrack can result in a video without the sound you expected.

Find the saved file on your device
On Android or iPhone, check your browser's download manager or the Files application after using the download control. The exact location depends on your browser and device settings.
On a computer, check the Downloads folder unless your browser is configured to save files elsewhere. If the result opens in a browser tab rather than downloading, use the browser's available save option if one is provided.
Troubleshoot an unsuccessful download
First, confirm that the URL identifies the intended Reel and that the original post remains accessible. Copy the link again and check that it is not a profile URL or a link to a different type of Instagram post.
If processing still fails, a temporary network problem, platform change, rate limit, restriction, or unavailable source may be responsible. Retrying later may help with a temporary problem, but repeated attempts cannot make private or inaccessible media available.
